Our vision is to bring an independent bookstore to the communities of Barnsley; providing the opportunity to browse, purchase and enjoy books across fiction and non-fiction. We cater for those interested in new and bestselling publications, whilst offering expanded genre and specialist areas and seeking new and varied writing.

We aim to connect with the local community and to play an active role in meeting the varied interests of the area. We seek and welcome discussion from individuals, family groups, and education, community and special interest groups, in developing what we offer.

With a background in education, language and communication, together with an understanding of importance of reading and development, we aim to provide an engaging children’s area – a place where adults and children can experience the joys of reading together. This will be enhanced by activity such as reading times for children, and creative sessions to enhance the enjoyment and experience of books. We will support visitors with advice on reading, on selecting the perfect books for every young visitor.

We felt it was time that the town and people of Barnsley had direct and easy access to books for enjoyment, learning and development: so here we are!
